Born at Linlithgow Palace on December 8th
Crowned Queen of Scotland 6 days later.
Mary and her court sailed for France on August 7th
She would live in France for the next 12 years.
She married
the Dauphin Francis, the son of Henry II,
King of France. Mary was 16 and the groom was 14. A little over 2 years
later, she was a widow.
Mary returned to Scotland. She was now 18 years old.
On Sunday, July 29th, Mary and Henry,
Lord Darnley were married in the Chapel Royal at
the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh.
Lord Darnley was
murdered in a house at Kirk o' Field, near the Edinburgh town
walls, in the early hours of the morning on February 10th.
The Earl of Bothwell,
and Mary married on May 15th at Holyroodhouse.
Mary flees to England and is imprisoned for the next 19 years.
She is executed at Fotheringhay Castle in England on February 8th.
