Trophy Bass was the first game I art directed. This was a huge project to get out the door. I was in charge of training and managing twelve production artists. Many artists were contract artists. I worked a double shift for about six months. Went for a very realistic look and video grabbed a pro bass fisherman on bluescreen. The photo realistic lakes were created using ariel photos of the actual lakes in the game. Trophy Bass was one of the best selling PC games and started a new trend towards realistic outdoor games for the PC.

Researching bass fishing, I found that there was a good ol' boy red, white and blue look. So I started there then contacted two of the world's best wildlife illustrators Mark Sussino and Larry Tople. In designing the interface for Trophy Bass I mainly tried designing menus that didn't detract from the beautiful paintings.
