Dave's Hall Of Shame (shame on you Dave Ednormally)

Why’s everybody always picking on me?

Remember the song "Charlie Brown" by the Coasters. Part of the lyrics in that song are "Who calls the English teacher daddyo." Because of Dave Edwards I didn’t get a job at a radio station that was a legendary stepping stone to the major markets. He started this rumor that during the job interview with the owner of this station that I had asked the gentleman "hey pops, got a gig"? Well needless to say I never got the gig at the station pops owned. This has haunted me throughout my broadcast career and has tremendously effected my earning ability and  social behavior.

I get blamed for everything

Dave Edwards and I were working at an AM-FM combo one weekend, both on the air at the same time. Dave, thinking that we were the only two in the building, decided it was time to light a smoke bomb in the program directors office. Unbeknownst to either of us the maid (domestic engineer) was also in the building cleaning. She smelled the smoke and called the fire department. Pardon the pun, but guess who took the heat. Nothing ever came of it but everyone thought it was me. I thought Dave should confess but he never did and it ruined my life forever. As for the poor program director; he was so stressed out he quite his job and took a position in Key West as a baiter on a charter fishing boat. Last we heard he was working on his masters.......ta boom (rim shot)

Before his recent hike to the Lake Wales ridge, a geological formation of hills (or a ridge) that runs through the heart of central Florida, Dave Edwards sent me a picture of an endangered and very rare Florida scrub jay. Being the world renowned photographer that he is (in his own mind) Dave said nothing about the picture so I thought it was from his vast collection of nature photography. Recently I found out that he never took the picture in the first place. It was from someone’s webpage. I was mortified and horrified, shocked and chagrined , frightened and confused. This will surly haunt me the rest of my life and then some. I’ll never get over the trauma and brutality.            (click here for audio)

Coming soon to this site find out how Dave Edwards caused the recent death of one of his ex program directors,  by gently re-arranging the door to his office 32 years ago. Ya gotta love those radio war stories.
