After graduating from Cibola High in 1981, Michael went north to Colorado to study music. He graduated from Adams State College in 1985 with a B.A. degree in Music Education and Trumpet Performance. Having taught in both the private and public sector Michael returned to Albuquerque in 1987 where he continues to teach.
  

        Michael has a very diverse musical background and has performed in many ensembles (jazz and non-jazz) both large and small throughout Albuquerque and the Western United States. Michael was recently a nominated finalist in the “Best Instrumentalist—Other” category for the 2000 Weekly Alibi Music Awards (Wammies).

 

        Besides music, Michael and his wife Vicki keep very busy with their three children

and other hobbies to numerous to mention.
