WELCOME TO ARAQINTA!

For those new to this site, Araqinta is the moniker I adopted in 2006 to identify my design and graphic productions in a general sense and this site was a repository of all and sundry. While I continue to dabble in numerous projects, Araqinta's online presence will be confined to my most recent computer generated illustrations.

The unfortunate fact is that while trying to compile an online gallery is a fairly futile operation at best - in that none of ones work translates seamlessly into cyberspace - adding the variables inherant in the spectator's visualizing ability - i.e., what type of computer they have - the whole enterprise becomes a virtual crapshoot. Then, too, there is the necessary evil of defacing ones images with identifying marks for image-protection purposes. I've tried to use them as design elements when possible (albeit with limited success).

I will shortly be purchasing new equipment. One goal is to create fine art prints of several of my images. If the operation flies, I will duly note it here.

Lastly, one note on the content of my work. I think it has always been my unconscious goal to make visible - to give substance to - that which is predominately unseen. This is perhaps the goal of all illustrators and illuminators, but, one inevitably drifts towards an uncharacteristic photo-(sur)realism when pixels become the liquid medium and a whole arsenal of transmutative abilities suddenly fall into ones hands. The artist as Trickster? You bet! ;-)
