Since 2001, I have served as an Academic Advisor in the Student Academic Affairs Office of the College of Liberal Arts and
Sciences at the University of Illinois. I have worked at this university since 1988, first as the academic advisor in the
Department of Political Science (1988-2001).
As a scholar, my main academic interests include contemporary Chinese politics, as well as the politics of Hong Kong and
Taiwan.
In addition to my advising work for the College of LAS, I also hold an adjunct assistant professorship with the Department
of Political Science. I teach the introductory courses in U.S. government and international relations. I also teach a course
on the politics of the Vietnam war era.
Since 1970, I have been a member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Inc., and I am currently a National Co-Coordinator
with that organization.
