The Sword of Light gives hope and inner strength to the one
it has chosen to wield it. The Bright Morning Star forged the weapon. The sword makes the holder shining, changing the color
of the
wielder's clothes to the purest white. Upon the blade, symbols and inscriptions
are written. One side has three large marks, which still have an unknown
meaning. However, on the other side engraved in the Ciefian language is the
Prophecy that foretold the fall of a hero and the rise of a new one:
"In a realm beyond mist
there fought two
blades
Shadow spreading and emitting light
The war was long, the battle intense
Each believing themselves right.
The arrival of justice came to play
With the one truth right to win,
But lies had clouded the chosen one’s mind
With trepidation within.
The bloodshed held no victory at all
For the blades fell from their hands
The sacred one and darkened one
To fail was the chosen land.
For many years the night will silence
Until it seeks again
The leader of such determined ones
A new body they need to rend.
No longer will doubt be sown
Into the white blade’s chosen,
They will be guided by the light
A mark upon them
frozen.
The
second battle will be waged
The decades twice after born,
And without the power of the Star
Will evil be adorned."
The Sword forged by Diomedes, oppositely, consumes the
wielder with unspeakable power. When a person is pierced with this blade, their
soul is sucked out of them. Those with weak spirits would only be consumed by
the blade, and those with stronger ones would desire to take it for their own.
Diomedes poured his own spirit into the weapon, and it contains the souls of
all he had slain in it. With each added soul, the Sword only grows stronger.
For these qualities, the opposing blades will forever be
known as “The Swords of Fate.”
