Aijeleth-Shahar was once
a single landmass, however, the three continents that consist of it now came to be when the Swords of Fate fell from the Realm
of the Sky down to the awaiting earth. The land cracked and separated,
unable to handle the power the swords contained, and thus the continents were formed. They became known as Arioch, Manisola, and Heath.
Arioch is rich in various
people. The native Ariochese are a folk who enjoy the simplicity of life and peace and quiet. They are very welcoming to outsiders,
which leads reason to believe that this is why Arioch is the most populated of the three continents. Many villages and towns
dwell there, the most notable being Cheran. Arioch also has many historical landmarks, such as the mysterious Temple of Azure
that rests at the bottom of Mount Keres.
Manisola is located to
the northeast of Arioch, and is known for its beaches. Many creatures roam its area, as does Arioch. This land is home to
the Daigonians (elves). They are a hospitable, strong-willed people, who have a great love for their kind and will fight to
protect those they love.
Heath is the last of the
three, and has many towns and people, yet since the separation from Aijeleth-Shahar, the land has mostly gone barren. There
are places that still have vegetation, and the people have learned to cope. The natives of the region, known as the Azrians,
are a proud people who view other races as inferior to themselves. One of the notable sites in Heath is the town of Magog,
which is the home of Diomedes's castle. Magog has long since been abandoned by all but those who follow him.
There are two more lands
that exist, but are not parts of Aijeleth-Shahar. The Realm of the Sky is the home of the Ciefians, and it is a most peaceful
of place. It is well hidden,
for passage into it is
by the means of a mist. A Ciefian's or a very trained eye can possibly see it. The entire realm is sky, with floating landmasses
about that hold homes and meeting places. The Ciefians are a kind people, and are towards all. Since the War of the Blades,
when Diomedes and his army infiltrated the realm and tried to take it for their own, the Ciefians have stopped their habits
of visiting the outside world.
The last land is known
as the Depths, that is home to the Shadow Race. It used to be feared (and still is), for open slits in the fabric of Aijeleth-Shahar
brought innocent victims there, which never returned. However, the realm has long since been forgiving to unfortunate people
who have stumbled there. It has been said that the Prophet of Aijeleth-Shahar, Quirinus, was the reason for the sudden change
in the Shadow Race’s practices. This lead to the belief that without the one who holds the power of prophecy, Aijeleth-Shahar
and the two lands overlapping it would crumble.
