Arrange a Workshop for Your Organization or Group

In-house training meets several organizational objectives:

  • Reduce training costs and minimize travel for your staff members
  • Tailor program to your organization's needs
  • Facilitate team-building and networking among the people who will be using and training others to use type in your organization.
  • Tailor the applications component of the workshop to provide tools your staff need to implement the MBTI® instrument in your work setting (five-day workshops).
If you or your group sponsors a workshop, you can:
  • Reduce travel for people in your geographic area
  • Choose an application focus that draws others with similar interests (five-day workshops)
  • Build relationships with people in your area who can provide support as you use type

Workshop Options

ZA qualifying training is available in two formats:

  • Five training days (7 class-hours per day), including an in-depth focus on one application of type (recommended)
  • Four training days (8 class-hours per day)

Application Topics

A qualifying workshop includes an overview of applications of the MBTI instrument. Five-day workshops include an in-depth look at one application. You choose the in-depth focus from these topics:

Team Building Work styles, leadership styles, problem solving, mutual usefulness of opposites, team analysis, effects of stress
Life Changes & Transitions Effects of type development, stress, grief in organizational and personal life changes
Communication Adapting listening and communication styles, recognizing out-of-pattern communication, effects of stress
Teaching & Learning Learning styles, using type to adapt teaching methods; presented experientially through 4 teaching styles
Marriage & Family Characteristics of preferences in children, suggestions for parenting, marriage counseling, marriage enrichment
Counseling Enhancing counselor self-understanding, effects of type match/mismatch between counselor and counselee, reducing toxicity, adaptations in approach, facilitating personal growth, career counseling
Worship & Prayer Type preferences in church life, worship styles, paths for spiritual growth

Additional One-day Participants

Persons who have already completed qualifying training may be added for the application day.

Workshop Size:

  • A Qualifying Workshop is limited to 25 qualifying participants with 2 trainers.
  • Workshop is designed in a modular format. The introductory and application days of a 5-day workshop, or the introductory (first 2) days of a 4-day workshop have a maximum of 35 people (including those registered for entire Qualifying Workshop) . These initial days are ideal for those who want to learn about personality type and the MBTI instrument but do not have the time to commit, or do not require qualification, now.  Possible 3- or 2-day registrants include: secretaries or spouses of persons taking qualifying training, supervisors of departments in which trained personnel will use MBTI instrument, persons wanting to update their type knowledge.
  • Small Group Option: 5 or 4 days  Limited to 8 people for total workshop with one trainer.  Maximum of 15 participants for introductory and application days.

What is Expected of a
Workshop Sponsor?

  • Provide facilitator or liason to whom all materials are shipped, all communication is directed, and who is responsible for the following items:
  • Arrange for workshop facilities, including room, audio-visual equipment, breaks
  • Publicize the workshop
  • Register participants, set and collect fees, inform participants about food and lodging facilities if needed
  • Provide list of participants to trainers at least 7 weeks prior to workshop so that study packets can be mailed. (Specific information needed about each participant will be sent with final contract agreement)
  • Provide on-site monitor during workshop
  • Provide video camera and camera operator on last afternoon of workshop
  • Provide hosting arrangements for trainers, if needed
