| MBTI® Certification
What is the difference between Qualification and
Certification?
Qualified practitioners
-
may administer, and interpret the MBTI® assessment
Certified practitioners
-
have met qualification requirements
-
have demonstrated competence and skill in interpretation and use of the
instrument
-
have a proven commitment to the ethical use of the MBTI instrument
-
commit to continuing education and 8 standards of excellence
The certified professional is recognized as someone who has advanced skills
and experience in the interpretation and use of the MBTI instrument.
The additional training and experience required of certified practitioners
offers the general public a way to better assess the skill level of the
practitioner.
To be eligible to apply for certification, a person must have at least one
year of experience in the ethical use of the MBTI instrument as a qualified
practitioner. If an applicant qualified educationally (did not complete
a qualifying program) after the end of 2000, completion of a qualifying program
or alternate continuing education is required before certification can be
granted.
In applying for certification, the practitioner must show at least six instances
of continued experience with type in at least two of four possible areas
of use:
1) use of the MBTI instrument with individuals,
2) use of the MBTI instrument with groups,
3) instruction of MBTI workshops, or
4) publication of research or instructional materials using the
MBTI instrument.
Continuing education and re-certification
Certification is granted for a three-year period. For re-certification, the
practitioner must accrue a minimum of 20 contact hours of continuing education
credit during the 3-year period. At least 10 of the 20 hours must be
in person-to-person/interactive training that permits the certificant to
demonstrate and receive feedback on presentation and interpretation skills.

for Certified MBTI Practitioners. The CPP-approved provider maintains
responsibility for the program. The Certified Provider Number for Zeisset
Associates is 0105.
For persons who are educationally qualified to use the MBTI instrument

Practitioners who are already qualified or certified can earn continuing
education credit by attending the Application Day of a regular qualifying
workshop. See available workshops under "Schedule of Workshops Open
to Individuals."
In addition, Zeisset Associates is available to offer advanced workshops
in cooperation with local sponsors. Advanced workshops include components
for sharpening and demonstrating your skills, as well as one special focus
from a variety of topics, such as the Application Day titles listed
under "Arrange a Workshop..."
Recognizing the limitations of standard workshop formats for some practitioners,

offers Distance Training Consultation and Evaluation. Included are
-
Evaluation of video-taped presentations or interpretations
-
Consultation and evaluation of handout materials
-
Consultation and evaluation of presentation or interpretation outlines and
