About Me

My name is Angela Sternitzke, and I'm a twenty-six year old college graduate.  I'm a fanatic of animation, especially of the hand-drawn sort.  Disney, Dreamworks, and Don Bluth are among my favorite studios.  I also have a great love of Middle Eastern (and as a byproduct, "Hollywood Arabian") art and design.
Due to a reluctance to move from San Antonio, Texas, I haven't had as much hand-drawn animation training as I'd like, but I've made up for it with digital and computer animation classes.  I draw constantly, focusing  mostly on character designs and sketches.  When I'm not drawing, I'm glued to my computer, working on 3D models and rendering, or web graphics.

What is Zakiyah's Musings?

Zakiyah is a character of mine, with a typical "Holywood Arabian" sort of pseudo-Middle Eastern look.  When it came time to choose a 'corporate identity', I decided to find a symbol that embodies both my love of animation and Middle Eastern motifs.  Zakiyah came to mind, so she's become my logo, and "Zakiyah's Musings" my professional name.
