Being clear on such things as area of life and time frame will help you get clear answers from the cards, but it's not enough to assure quality information. For that, your spiritual intention must be as clear as your practical intention. Here are some things to remember about this dimension of question making:

Ask questions you don't already know the answer to.

This sounds a little simple, but take a moment and see if you don't already know the answer to the question you are asking.

Sometimes we already know the answer, but hope that the Tarot will tell us something different.

When we ask the Tarot something we already know, it will often give us a card about why we are asking instead of one that supports our knowledge.

Ask questions that lead to action.

A question like "How can I be happy?" is too open. There are too many ways to be happy.

Instead, a question like, "How can I improve my relationship with my partner?" or "What can I do to improve my work situation?"

Cards that refer to actions will be more clear than cards that refer to more general ideas.
