Further Study

Many modern tarotists shy away from the term "fortune teller". Here's another take on the issue...

Our fortunes are the experiences we learn from and the destinies we create for ourselves. The Tarot is made to help you tell these tales of adventure and romance. In this game we will use the Tarot to tell the stories of our lives.

Think of an experience you've had. This might be a particular incident, a recurring event or time in your life.

Choose cards for questions 1 and 3 face up. You may find that more than one card calls to you. Try to narrow it down to one card. Remember, the card you select probably won't have a picture of what you did. Instead it will invoke the deeper meaning of your memory.

Pull cards for questions 2 and 4, face down. As you answer the questions, listen to what each card is saying about the quality and meaning of the experience you chose to write about.

When you are done answering the questions, use what you've written to tell the story of your fortune.

Position 1 (choose face up):
Choose a card to represent the experience
Position 2 (choose face down):
Choose a card to tell you something you've learned from the experience
Position 4 (choose face down):
Choose a card to represent what you need to say
Position 3 (choose face up):
Choose a card to represent something you want others to know
