The Wheel

Yin Yang

In contrast to Dualism of any kind is the image of the Wheel. In systems based on the Wheel, everything is compared to a cycle. The cycle is (re)birth, life, death, rebirth. This cycle is considered to be infinite and never ending. It appears at all levels of reality. From the Universe as a whole to the smallest sub-atomic particle, everything is considered to be a some point in this cycle. Each cycle is considered to be a part of a larger cycle and made up of smaller cycles. For instance, the birth/life/death of a generation might be the birth of a culture or philosophy. Your own life is made up of smaller births (beginnings) and deaths (endings).
