MPS: Yuba City, CA, USA: Architect Chauncy Whitestone-Pelling intrigued by the Mini Mac from Apple Computer Company, is designing a house made from Mini Macs.
Mr. Whitestone-Pelling explained, "I have observed the versatility of this little computer which computerists have used to control entertainment centers, household appliances, alarm systems, automobiles, robots, and one user has built a massive array of 16,384 Mini Macs, which seems to be an odd number that has something to do with computer math. I have also observed that the Mini Mac is slightly larger than a brick and can be used in its stead."
"I have tested the feasibility of using the Mini Mac as construction material by fastening several of them together using super glue as cement." continued Mr. Whitestone-Pelling, "The test was quite successful and I have entered the planning stage."
Mr. Whitestone-Pelling envisions an Intelligent house capable of controlling all appliances within using bluetooth technology, monitoring the interior and the exterior for unusual or dangerous situations such as fire, accident, or security violations, and notifying authorities via Airport.
"Can you imagine a development of such houses capable of communicating with each other?" asked an excited Mr. Whitestone-Pelling, "The possibilities are mind-boggling."
When asked if this would create another Big Brother situation Mr. Whitestone-Pelling answered, "No, it would be more like a Big Mother. These houses would be intelligent enough to recognize friend from foe and keep Big Brother out."
Mr. Whitestone-Pelling has acquired 42 acres on the northside of Yuba City and plans to build the first Mac Mini home in Spring of 2006. He estimates it will require one million Mini Macs per acre to complete the development.
