The Story
Yours, Aiden is about self-enlightenment—about friendship. The themes are timeless but the story unfolds
for today. Set
in the seventies at a Catholic boys boarding school in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Sean tells his story of delineation.
Interrupted from a one dimensional and narrow path, Sean’s
life changed when he met Aiden. Tested
his senior year like
no other time in his life, Sean finally
made sense of his
experiences but it came at a price. It took uniting his past
and present, two decades later, to complete his transformation.
Aiden keeps a promise to himself at the very spot that once
inspired him. Sean, too,
finds peace there. Sean moves
from a typical boy to a man
who learns to listen
to himself.
He learns to value each moment. But it takes a visit many
years later for Sean to piece together
fragments
of his life
to begin anew.
Each solitary path we travel, like Sean, comes together at
the same spot. That is, if we are willing to look within.

What they are saying...
“…Yours,
Aiden by Edward G. Kardos is a compelling and engagingly written story of friendship, the word used to describe a long,
slow process of enlightenment as well as a term applicable to the process of healing and learning to make sense of life. Spanning
twenty years, and centered around a secluded spot of inspiration, Yours, Aiden is a strongly recommended and emotionally
moving saga.”
James A.
Cox, editor-in-chief, Midwest Book Review
“Yours, Aiden is a thoughtful,
layered and expressive novel with much to say about the lingering effects of singular friendships on the heart and soul.”
David DeWitt, whose articles
on the arts have appeared in The New York Times
“In Yours, Aiden Ed Kardos demonstrates
an open-hearted ability for thoughtful introspection – as well as an unfeigning exploration of the most delicate layering
of true friendship. This book is as sincere and honest as they come.”
John Bryan, author, The James River in Richmond
"You created true characters and a
strong sense of place and movement. I enjoyed it."
Jeff Fischer, best selling author, The Motley Fool's Investing
Without a Silver Spoon
"The story presents a fresh depiction of relationships
among men, the way men feel about their self and their connection to their creator. Not sterotypical of stories using
a backdrop of Catholicism or adolescent angst, Yours, Aiden steps well into a complex realm of self-enlightenment which
transcends all people, all spiritual persuasions and all times."
Caduceus Magazine, Spring 2003
