BASIC COVERAGE
The basic monthly fee includes all accommodation, food, activities,
housekeeping, laundry, medical supervision, transportation and a normal
level of personal care (including assistance with bathing and dressing.)
FUN ACTIVITIES
Yorkshire House has a full-time Activities Director on staff to ensure that
residents always have events to educate, entertain and invigorate. Delight
in a sing-a-long or take in a big band show. Try your best at Jeopardy or
debate current affairs and the stock market. Savor time with pets, or
simple sit and stretch. At Yorkshire House, we'll keep you busy with plenty
of leisure activities to enjoy, from word games and walking tours, to
movies and mystery rides, we'll exercise your mind and your spirit.

FURNITURE AND PERSONAL EFFECTS
All rooms are fully furnished, but guests are welcome to bring anything
they wish to personalize their room. To ensure that the residents feel at
home among their own things, we encourage guests to personalize their rooms
with their own furniture such as a favorite armchair, bed, bureau or chest
of drawers and especially more personal items such as photographs, pictures
and ornaments.
HAIRDRESSER
A visit to our resident hairdresser / beautician, (Lou Ann), is a social
event as much as a "wash and perm".
The men seem to enjoy the gossip as much as the ladies.
LIBRARY
We have a large-print library of books and magazines.
MEALS
3 nutritious, well balanced meals are provided each day with snacks
available at any time. Special diets, including diabetic or low sodium, can
be provided as required.

MEDICAL SUPERVISION
All residents medications are fully documented, kept under lock and key and
given as per prescription instructions.
This eliminates the risk that a resident forgets to take their medication,
or even worse that they take it multiple times because of forgetfulness.
NURSE CALL SYSTEM
Each resident has a Nurse Call bell placed so that it can be reached
without getting out of bed at night and if needed, by their chair during
the day.
PARK
In addition to the landscaped grounds around the building we have our own
quarter acre park with orchard, walking paths and park benches. The
building and park are all within a perimeter fence (and within staff view),
so security is guaranteed even for those residents with a tendency to
wander.
This is ideal for our Alzheimer's residents who need to continuously be on
the move and who would find a locked building very frustrating.

PERSONAL LAUNDRY
Laundry and Housekeeping needs are attentively serviced by our 24 hour
staff.
ROOMS
Recognizing that for some privacy is essential and that for others
companionship is more important, we have single and twin bedded rooms.
STAFFING
We have a large trained staff of dedicated and kindly care givers, who will
do everything possible to make each resident's stay a happy one and their
help is available 24 hours a day at the press of a button.
TELEVISION
There are several public lounges with televisions, but every bedroom has
cable television so that residents can have their own television sets.
VISITORS
Visiting friends and family are always welcome any time.
