The Tao that can be told is not the eternal
Tao. You can point the way but each person must go there alone.
Creation seeks Creator.
When the two become One that is the Tao.
When the two become One that is yoga.
The cosmic dream is the source of this earthly
maya.
You never were, you never will be, you always
are.
When the dream ends, there is only the dreamer.
You will assume millions of forms, none are
real.
Millions of names, none your true name.
The infinite manifestations of Krishna - they
are the play of consciousness.
Brahma creates, Vishnu preserves, Shiva destroys...a
brief rest, then it begins again.
The Source has no beginning, no end, no boundaries...
it can not be contained.
Goddess expresses herself through creation,
like looking through a vast and infinite holographic mirror.
Creation worships the Goddess without knowing
they are one and the same.
Creation, dissolution, the planets of Heaven,
the realms of Hell...
Lila - the play of the universe.
Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva at work.
The universe is self-aware.
It is continually out of reach by the mind.
You must expand and climb out of yourself in
order to see.
How large is the universe?
What lies beyond the boundary?
What is it like to reach the end?
All is consciousness - no beginning, no end.
Shiva comes knocking at the door in many disguises:
The saint, the beggar, the soldier, the prisoner...
Underneath they are all one.
There are many ideas about the Sun in different
cultures
And many different names for the Sun.
It is still the same Sun.
The Witness observes silently, like a cat sitting
high on the shelf.
No judgment, no commentary, just pure awareness.
Purring...
When the age falls into darkness, a Being appears
to illuminate the way.
Yoga was handed down from master to disciple
over the millennia.
The Masters KNEW. They taught by example, by
direct transmission, by quieting the mind and simply being.
Who were they? - No one...they came from nowhere,
stayed for a moment, and then returned.
An enlightened being doesn't know he's enlightened.
He lives in the present.
Two enlightened beings will recognize eachother
but the people will often recognize neither.
The holy man sits, does little, remains in
silence.
He holds on to nothing and accomplishes everything.
The sage, sitting in silence, living alone,
needing little
Is supremely content without attachment to
cause pain.
Yet he feels the suffering of the world in
his heart.
The enlightened being sees only God.
God is everywhere, yes? Hari Om.
We seek harmony because we forget. We seek
relaxation because we are tense.
It's all yoga - harmony, forgetfulness, relaxation,
tension.
We need duality to know oneness. It's really
very simple.
The body knows this...also the breath, the
animals, the trees...
But the mind keeps looking somewhere else.
Surrender... love...surrender...serve...surrender.
That's all there is. It leads to grace.
Be still. Cling to neither this nor that. You
will see God everywhere.
Be a light unto the world. Shine like a beacon
in the dark.
There is endless strength in your light.
There is nothing to achieve, either out in
the world or within. Is it not perfect already, even in its imperfection?
Change comes and goes - stay close to your
center.
To become successful, first become empty.
To remain successful, remain empty.
When people ask "How did you do it?" Just answer
"I don't know."
This life is the maya - a dream.
When we awaken, we will see it as it is...as
it always was and will be.
Consciousness discovering itself.
This path takes courage - to go into the unknown,
To makes friends with the darkness
To stay in the present.
As our sadhana deepens, we see ourselves more
clearly.
That takes even more courage.
There are many distractions on the path.
How do you know if you are on the right path?
Quiet the mind, follow the breath, surrender...
Then the path is everywhere - in everything
you do.
It's all the path.
Death has no power over you.
You were neither born, nor will you die.
The eternal Atman exists in all - forever.
Relinquish concepts about the way it's
supposed to be.
Then it's the way it's supposed to be.
Each day surrender. Each night surrender again.
Offer up your life as a puja.
Your life is prayer in action.
Striving for the goal - postures, altered states,
enlightenment -
Leads to more illusion.
There is nowhere to go but here. Now.
Practice, practice, practice.
Otherwise it is so hard to see what is right
in front of your face.
Cultivate the center not the personality.
Practice silence to understand impermanence.
Maya keeps us in a world of illusion. Empty
the mind.
Calm the waves of thought until the surface
is still.
Peer down into eternity.
Sail across the ocean between birth and death,
Following the wind and tides.
A strong boat weathers the storms.
Take the path of least resistance. Why resist?
Open your heart.
Be like the first delicate shoots of spring.
Moderation keeps the hindrances from clinging
to us
Like briars as we walk the path.
Simplicity keeps the ego from leading us down
blind alleys.
Abyassa and vairagya (practice and renunciation)
are the two wings of yoga.
Travel the path as lightly as possible.
Leave no footprints.
Encounter every person and situation without
judgment.
Then you will see clearly.
Nothing exists without its opposite:
Love/hate, rich/poor, happy/sad.
Avoid the snares of attachment and aversion
to find freedom.
Withdraw the senses, practice silence.
Act without attachment to results.
Then you will get results.
On the Wheel of endless birth and death there
is no peace - only suffering.
Get off of the Wheel.
Fear not - God is everywhere.
Fear not - God is in everything.
Fear not.
Find your dharma - it is unique to you.
Follow the dharma - it is your guide.
Serve the dharma - and you serve all beings.
Silence is the source of the cosmic Om.
From silence all things begin.
Into silence all things return.
We are now in Kali Yuga - the age of darkness.
The universe is created, sustained, destroyed
- over and over.
It is all the play of God.
Withdraw the senses inward like a turtle withdraws
into its shell.
You will find God within.
Change yourself and you change the world.
You ARE the world.
Everything you do has impact far beyond your
imagination.
Your every action becomes a teaching.
In Prakriti - the world of matter - there is
endless diversity.
In Perusha - the world of consciousness - there
is only One.
Peace comes to those who see the One behind
the diversity.
