In the early hours before dawn, twinkling stars appear
in the background
like ornaments on the branches of a twisted
oak tree
shadows that were rocks become deer and rabbits
the sky glows faintly as hills change color
like morning elephants in green
mist arises like steam from between the ridges
crows announce another day
and the land awakens into morning
may the earth live to spin on its axis yet another
day, feed the animals, and bloom as it once did
to create the long shadows of afternoon
...
Insh'allah
Come join me on this journey into silence
be still and listen to the heartbeat
of the earth
the pulse of the universe, silence of the soul
get lost in the divine presence
and look into infinity in the eyes of a deer
may we be blind to all but the presence of the
One, in endless forms
may I hear only the voice of the One in all beings
and may darkness and light be as one
...Insh'allah
There is no god but God who is infinite mercy
and compassion
may we walk in circles seven times
around the drum
around the mountain
around the Stone
dancing our prayers and singing songs inscribed
in the heart of God
calling His name ten thousand times
with a sweetness that is breathtaking,
heartbreaking
sending waves of love and a spiral of healing
light from our fingertips
straight to the keepers of the heart
until He answers with a shower of rose petals
and a dove from the heavens with a blessing
to sooth the longing in our souls
...Insh'allah
