| Don't mess with Bacchus and his Lab Block |
|
|
There is always that one rat who stands out in a crowd. You know the kind, always roaming where he shouldn't, picking fights,
hoarding food, escaping, biting cats, peeing on Zoo, etc..That would be Bacchus. He got his name in about two seconds, in
Greek it means 'To Shout'. I didn't know that until after I named him, but it is spookily fitting.
The following three boys are the Kings of the Roost here at the tribe. Not that Otto or Leroux would hurt a fly, but they
are clearly royalty.

| Angry Bacchus |
Above is a perfect example of when you do not want to try and pick up or touch a male rat. Bacchus has puffed up in anger
because we were trying to photograph him near a strange rat to compare fur colors. If you see your rat or any other rat puff
up like this, DO NOT attempt to touch. You stand a very good chance of getting bit very hard.

Above and right - This is Bacchus's brother ZT Otto. He is a Dumbo Rexed Agouti and yes, I know he's too fat. We're working
on that to keep him healthy. Otto is squishy and resembles a hamster on steroids. I find it very hard to keep from squeezing
the stuffin' out of him. He is named in honor of a rat owned by the gentleman who took most of the photos on this site.
Thanks Dan!

Above and right - ZT Gaston Leroux - named in honor of the founding male of my hairless line, Gaston. Leroux is a Dumbo
rexed 'Zoo Hue' hairless/carrier. He is also currently on a diet, because when you are so chubby your skin shows thru your
curls....well....that's just embarassing.
|
Leroux also inherited the Blonde Horde's adventurous spirit.
I can clearly picture him in a little Indian Jones outfit as he maneuvers the obstacles and rough terrain of couches,
piles of blankets and cage tops.

Left and Above - Two more photos of ZT Bacchus - he is a Dumbo Russian Blue Agouti.

To Be of Service
Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission-to
be of service to them wherever they require it.
