Now I know people find rats with red eyes frightening. It is my experience that it's because light-eyed rats sway when they
look at you. It is nothing to be afraid of, they are attempting to focus. Bad eyes ya know....small animals are normally
near-sighted (which explains why hamsters run right off of tables) but little rattie-sized glasses are not an option.
Now see? They are not quite so scary when you know they just see you as a big blurry blob from a distance. Heck, if I had
a strange smelling blobbish shaped creature coming toward me, I would be jumping from foot to foot to keep from peeing my
pants!
Picture that same rat wearing Harry Potter glasses and smile.
This is Marsh, he's a Standard PEW Rex and he came from the west coast of Florida near St Pete. Not a man of pedigree, he's
more of the robust longshoreman but with really beautiful hair.
He's the alpha of the cage, which includes Mango and BN Toosix.
This is BN Toosix - Dumbo American Blue - TooSix is named in honor of another rat of mine named WunSix. It's complicated.
He's very squishy and displays the wonderful temperament of Bellaratta's Nest rats.
As you can see, we have tortured him on several occasions to get these shots.
Don't laugh too hard at his name, he has a sibling named Wooo Wooo.
Little Bunny TooSix, hopping thru the forest...
Shown here with TooSix, is Mango. He's a standard PEW and came from down near Palm Bay with his brother Banana and his sister's
Lily and Kiwi. Banana has passed away, but the two sisters are alive and well. I can't say enough about this fella, he is
absolutely the softest rat I have ever owned and he tolerates me giving him pink cheeks! (see video for explanation)
Dog Eat Doug
Kiwi, the remaining surving sibling of Mango and another standard PEW.
Kiwi, Jayla, Mango, TooSix and Marsh are all over the age of two so that puts them in the geriatric category. Time to
break out the shuffle boards and the bingo cards.
