PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS
How many jobs have you lost to Canada? How many times have you
been told "Sorry, we're hiring in Canada?" How much lower was your
income in 1998 than in previous years?
Right now, there are 47 productions in Vancouver alone. Canadian
tax rebates to American studios and producers have decimated our industry
and it will not get better.
Australia has already jumped on the bandwagon. "Mission Impossible
II" and the next two "Star Wars" prequels are all being shot in Australia
. None of these are small budget and constitute hundreds of American
jobs lost. We can sit by and watch our jobs disappear or we can
do something about it.
We are asking that you and your families boycott ALL movies
during Memorial Day Weekend: Friday, May 28th through Monday, May
31st. JUST SAY NO!
Spread the word to all your vendors, friends and colleagues. This
affects them as well, be it a realtor, the dentist, the dry cleaners, or
the beauty shop. If we don't make money, they don't make money.
This is a small step, but a first step. Remember the only thing the
Hollywood Studios care about is money.
FIGHT FOR YOUR JOBS!
P.S. NOT ONE OSCAR NOMINATED BEST PICTURE WAS MADE IN AMERICA |
