I wanted to ask Mitch Marcoulier about his hot-rod wiring and shielding
as mentioned on your site. You got his email address?
Or you could
just forward this to him if you don't mind.
Mitch is
*THE* Synclavier tech out here in L.A. Actually he is the *ONLY*
Synclavier tech out here on the
West Coast! His number is (818) 996 - 3024.
Also, have you ever heard of anyone making a PORTABLE DTD by putting
bins, STMs, PSU in different cases? I'd love to take mine
for remote
sessions (I've been doing all my work at 96k for years and would
love to
do remote sessions that way too).
Good news, good news. Have you heard of the PowerPC hardware yet?
This allows the ABLE computer to
be bypassed and all software/control of the Synclavier/PostPro to be
handled on your MAC. What this
means is a reduced tower size! Not too mention using several
Macs at the same time with one tower.
400Mhz processors running the system as opposed to the ABLE at 2Mhz!
Making "Disk Images" of the
Synclavier's drives and copying them quite easily. Etc.
Call Demas
(603) 632 - 4159. Brain George (the owner) has been travelling
around demonstrating his
PowerPC stuff carrying around a small PolyVoice/MultiChannel Distributor-in-a
rack. The towers can
roughly be half their size!
