hi

my vt 100 broke down so  I need something as terminal what about a mac. do I only need software or do I
also need an additional card? i got a synclavier II with 32 fm voices.

All you need is the software and a 25 pin male to Mac male barrel, Null Modem cable.  The software can be obtained through the new company Demas (603) 632 - 4159.  I do not think I am allowed to pass that one out.  You can use any terminal program to talk to your Synclavier although it would be text only unless you had a program that could emulate VT640 or Tektronix4010.  Just be sure to match the baud rate (either 9600, 19,200 or 38,400) and play with your general terminal settings.  You can use an IBM also in the same manner.  The software you speak of is just an emulation program of a "dumb" terminal.  Give them a call, as I don't know how Brian handles the software licensing (although it is such an old system and such an essential program that came with all Mac upgrades, I highly suspect anything more than a shipping and handling fee, but I could be wrong).  I now have the program available for download.  Click here.
