About AUMM Classes

The Arizona University of Magick and Mysticism (AUMM) was co-founded by Michael Crowley and Petros Xristos in 1996 in order to provide a structured form of occult education to interested people in the Phoenix metro area. Since then it has designed and scheduled hundreds of classes on a wide variety of mystical, occult, new age and general magickal topics of interest. See our Events Archive for a full listing.

Classes under the auspices of AUMM are currently held weekly and are open to all adults interested in the occult arts. No pre-registration required, and only a small donation (usually $5) is requested to cover costs. Classes are offered on a rotating basis and one can attend any classes that one finds of interest without committing to additional classes. Most classes do not have prerequisites, but some classes are divided into “basic” and “advanced” divisions and are better taken in the appropriate order. The title of the class will indicate its level.

AUMM offers an informal (non-accredited) Certificate of Basic Magickal Studies to students desiring a benchmark for their personal progress. Requirements are successful completion of a set of at least 10 different classes, in any order and over any reasonable period of time (usually one year.) The certificate is handscribed on parchment and signed by AUMM's Wizard-in-Residence, Michael J. Crowley. AUMM also offers an informal (non-accredited) Diploma in Magickal Arts and Sciences to students who successfully complete at least 20 different classes and write a thesis of their choice for approval by us.

All classes and have a requested $5.00 donation unless otherwise specified. Students attending workshop classes in tool-making, etc., are also responsible for bringing their own materials.
