- In the window I lay weeping, with each tear my life is seeping.
- Infinity sideways is the key.
- A young man of a hundred stood in the cold
Exchanged his gay headdress of colors most bold
For one of ivory, but one year old
It was his misfortune to live in a wold.
- This man weighs one hundred pounds plus half his weight. How much does he weigh?
- "What have I got in my pocket?"
- It keeps getting bigger, the more you take away from it.
- Voiceless it cries, wingless flutters, toothless bites, mouthless mutters.
- What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening?
- Neebachnezer built a forest that made the gods frown
For he built this forest from the heavens down
The gods disapproved of its suicidal beauty
- Often held but never touched
Always wet but never rust
Often bites but seldom bit
To use me well you must have wit
- This is the riddle of the Unknown:
That which may return can be lost
Though cannot be bought at any cost
Telling lies it breeds deceits
Can never be full and never depletes
At whim of its master, a sliver is shared
With thieving light fingers, cannot be snared
It can bring up a smile, it can pull down tears
Emotionless waves that crash throughout years
Buried beneath layers of past
In substanceless halls impossibly vast
Its future untold; through death will it last
HINT - one riddle is a clue to answer another
