Forbidden Donut is a small privately published magazine, intended to contain all types of writing and art. Much of the contents of the magazine come from people we know who like to write, but we also receive around 20 unsolicited manuscripts per month. We are currently listed in the Novel and Short Story Writers' Market. FD is distributed through word of mouth and is sold in a few stores. Currently on its fifth issue, FD usually runs around 50 pages and contains fiction, some poetry, memoirs, non-fiction (people don't give us much though), art and photography. We also print random other things to break up the stories, including riddles, quotes, reviews, and other junk. The main focus of the magazine is the fiction.
One day Jon said to me (I'm Brian) he said, "What if we had a Forbidden Donut web page?" and I said, "Hmm." After a little looking into the matter I discovered that this could be accomplished at no cost, so after a little reading on HTML, here we are.
The idea of the page is to represent much of what Forbidden Donut contains, as well as providing new stuff that isn't in any issue of FD. If you're a Forbidden Donut fan and there's something from the issues that you want to see here, just E-mail me and we'll see what we can do. Also, tell us what kind of new things you would most want to see on the page; we want this to be more than just an advertisement for the magazine.
Quite likely some of the things appearing on this page will end up in future issues of FD, but they will by no means be any significant portion of it (in other words we won't give enough of the issue away so that you won't want to read it!).
