Winter herding, Alaska style

Sunset Acres Farm is in Wasilla, Alaska. This is a place where folks interested in herding
can go to learn or particpate. Sunset Acres is owned by Suzanne Nevada. She and her husband
have taken land and turned it into a working farm where they raise cattle dogs. Suzanne rents
sheep if you are an experienced herder, if not you can take a class. There are several areas
to work sheep, smaller ones giving you a chance to work up closer, and ones large enough for
AKC herding trials or instinct testing.
Here you can see the gang from Eagle River, Alaska, practicing their herding skills at Sunset Farm.
