I Am Innocent of Murder!

My name is Leslie Thornell W-89789. I am at Valley State Prison for Women, in Chowchilla, CA. I am looking for some help in my case. My family does not have a lot of money, and I need some help.

Here is a little about my case. It happened back in 1989. The police did not arrest me until 1997, to charge me with murder. I went to trial and the jury found me guilty. The judge in my case, Judge Burkheart ordered my transcripts printed up. He read them over and it took 9 months before I was called back into court from jail. Judge Berkheart read the transcripts and overturned the juries verdict. Judge Berkheart stated that he sat through my trial and found me to be not guilty and he granted me a new trial. He then lowered my bail from 250,000 to 25,000 dollars and I was bailed out 12 hours later.

That was in 1999 and I was a free woman once again awaiting a new trial. I was out for a year and two months . One day the detectives came to my house in the year 2000 and arrested me. They dismissed my judge and sent me to another Judge and that judge sentenced me to 25 years to life in prison. So I filed my first appeal and it was denied. Then my mother sent everything about my case to the California Innocence Project in San Diego CA. They worked on my case for about 2 years or more. They talked to my judge and he was all for me getting a new trial. They did not know how to present it into court. All my court papers and transcripts were sent back to my mother. ;They worked on my case for over 2 years telling me they were going to get me out. Then all of a sudden the students working on it went on to become lawyers and just stopped working on my case.

Now I am seeking help. I am innocent. I am asking for someone to please think about helping me. I would be so grateful. I had a paid attorney during my trial and my family is still paying on those fees. It has put them into a financial hardship. They are willing to help out in any way they can and have everything from the Innocence Project in San Diego.

If you’re willing to help or listen to my side, please contact me at…
