Dawn Dumble

A senior from Bakersfield who redshirted last season because of injury, Dumble won the discus at the '95 NCAA outdoor and placed second in the shot put. She won the discus with an effort of 187-2 and in the shot put, she was second (56-5 3/4 behind Bruin junior Valeyta Althouse. The '95 NCAA outdoor discus crown was her first discus national title and her fourth overall NCAA individual championship. She entered the '95 NCAA at No.2 on the shot put list and No. 1 in the discus. She's a three-time NCAA individual shot put champion--'95 NCAA indoor (57-8 1/2), '93 NCAA outdoor (56-4 and '92 NCAA indoor (56-11 1/2). She's the only female in Pac-10 history to win four conference discus titles and three shot put crowns. In '95 at the league meet, she was second in the shot put (58-0 1/2) and first in the discus (199-9; Pac-10, meet, school records and personal best).
