Writing for clients is usually fun and challenging. But I also market some of my own creative writings, and I'll share some here.

Love's Illumination

Moonlight kisses the sunset goodnight --
the light of dying day caresses awakening stars.
Mid-sky no point is clearly one or the other;
there is no line of separation.

This is how we are:
separately shining,
blending beautifully.

I must have "channeled" the following, since I'm not fond of country music yet this seems to be a country song.

Where I Shouldn't Be Going

There's a strong wind blowing today,
and it just might carry me away.
'Cause I've been thinking back
to where I shouldn't be going.
I've been thinking back
to things I shouldn't be doing.

There's a sweet dream playing tonight,
and I'll have to hold my pillow real tight.
'Cause I've been thinking back
to where I shouldn't be going.
I've been thinking back
to things I shouldn't be doing.

You're taking 'way all of my strength:
the end of my rope doesn't have a great length.
Now that I'm thinking back
to where I shouldn't be going.
Now that I'm thinking back
to things I shouldn't be doing.

You hardly ever cross my mind,
because you're squarely there all of the time.
So when I'm looking back,
it's only you that I'm seeing.
And when I look ahead
it's only you that I'm seeing.

A sun's rising out of the night.
It's going to shine on me big and bright
as I run back to you.
Back to the love I've been needing.
As I come back to you
I know I'll never be leaving.
When I'm back to you
You know I'll never be leaving.

Meditation on Holiday Snow

(Please take a couple of minutes to stop -- truly stop -- while you read this. The short time-out may bring a gift.)

Take time with me now,
regardless of climate or weather,
whether in mountain or desert,
to be soothed by the light, wondrous,
magical silence of a gentle snowfall.

Perhaps as a child secretly still awake,
under cover of winter's night,
you stared out your window at the random
rhythm of lacy crystals showering a moonlit sky.
What soft loveliness falling into sleep!

With playful innocence at any age
and child eyes traveling deep, step inside
a fanciful snow-globe world where tiny mirrors
of nature's most quiet rain drift and swirl delight
at the slightest bidding of your hand.

In needy moments during frantic days
ticking by in a blur toward year's end,
and by true memory or imaginative musing,
venture inward with reflection to again find silent awe
and powder-soft, sacred wonder.

A Friend Like That

They say beauty is only skin deep.
That is not always true.

Sometimes there is so much beauty
within the core of a loving person
that it just has to spill to the outside
and show its grace
to the eyes of the world.

I am a lucky person:
I have a friend like that.
