Just noticed this weekend that P. Terry's Burger Stand in Austin is on Barton Springs Road. Maybe he wanted to work close to home...

My best friend and I were at Barton Springs this weekend when we looked up and saw a tall, stringy, bald dude who looked just like Peter Terry. As he walked by us, a swimmer surfaced in the water. He had a beard, long brown hair and looked just like Jesus.

Jesus took one look at Peter Terry and then stood on the water (okay, maybe on a rock that made Jesus LOOK like he was standing at the water) and watched Peter walk by. Then Jesus dove back in the water. We didn't see either of them again the rest of the day.

We are on vacation at the shore and I came in off the beach into my lovely master shower and find three flies in the shower. I went upstairs to get the swatter and murdered those.

Then, to my horror, another, then another, then another. Altogether seven: on the wall, the windowseal, my towel (double yuck), the faucets. There I am in my shower going to battle with those damn flies--screaming and cringing.

A fly will never just be a fly anymore--not since When the Day of Evil Comes.

I saw P. Terry's in Austin on Lamar, too. Thought it was just part of the amazingly well-capitalized publicity machine. Imagine renting out a whole building as a faux, partially constructed burger joint, I said to myself. Hmm.

My Mom read WTDOEC this past week. I thought she would enjoy it while in the hospital. But she went into Atrial Fibrillation twice while reading the book. Was it just a coincidence as she was admitted for heart issues in the first place?

She thought it was funny and I did too, but the nurses suggested that she not read this book at night. I guess it really does get one's heart racing.
