When e-commerce first became popular, I had this idea: "If you build it, they will come." Duh! I won't bore you with details of the money I lost and heartache and got.

Promotion is the key to generating traffic to your site. And the best way is submitting articles where your target audience can read them. Use key words; test the title for duplicates on the major search engines; provide relevant information (even humor works); and provide a link to the site.

Here are a few examples of articles for the computer manual project. While engaged on the project, I submitted articles like these to over 295 article websites. Articles went out; traffic came back.

Some of the major keywords for this audience was "fix PC", "fix my PC". There were about 8 keywords in all. This article provided real info that a PC owner could use immediately.
