Female Purple Finch 06348. Not sold separately.
One rainy day while photographing song birds, it suddenly became quiet and all the birds vanished, except for the frightened little Female Purple Finch, above.  It sat perfectly still in the protection of the bird feeder for several minutes, not moving as much as a feather.  The hungry hawk, top, is in the very next frame, taken seconds later.  When the viewfinder mirror dropped, the hawk was gone.
Happily, the motionless finch survived.
