Inspired by her trip to Scotland and England where she visited friends she had made when she lived there some years

Dorothy Morehead's son Bruce and wife Ruth just
made her a proud grandmother to Sophia Alexa Raymond, born Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. Dorothy was there during labor and
delivery and got to cut the umbilical cord. "Sophia is a cutie with lots of dark hair." Stop by Bliss
(46th & Skillman) and ask Dorothy to show her pictures.
Speaking
of Dorothy's Bliss, it was one of 3 Queens restaurants in Time Out Magazine's
top 100 Restaurants in NYC. We're happy to report Fish & Chips is now a standard on the menu, along with some terrific
pork ribs with sweet potato fries. And its simple hamburger is grand. Go Tues-Thurs. to take advantage of a prix fixe. Phone

We meet WQIDC members and friends at Sunnyside Gardens Farm
Market, 46-01 Skillman. It is a new business that Pat Dorfmann and Kate Brennan among others like to support.
Check it out!
We caught Marilyn Lutzker catching up with Peggy & Gerry
Perrin at the Holiday Music party sponsored
by Marc Leavitt's law firm. Wonder what news these long time WQIDC members were sharing?

Joel Landy and his new bride are now living in Kew Gardens. When not singing, Joel performs in the classroom,
both at the New School and in the New York City Schools system. His specialty is computer education -- but we know it is also
singing and composing political songs. See Joel's Songs of Freedom website for info on how and where to catch him as well as more political and musical inspiration.

IN MEMORIAM -- Amy Bobrow, Ruth Levy & Frances Gizerian
WQIDC members and friends continue to mourn the loss of three of our dear friends and active
members: Amy Bobrow, Ruth Levy and Frances Gizerian.
Amy, a former WQIDC president and our current treasurer, was brave during her illness. She had a spirit
and optimism we all admired. She worked for NY State as a manager in their bureau of Alien Certification. Sympathy to her
mother, Alice Sigmund and to her sister Debbie Bieber.
Ruth Levy was a staunch supporter of our club and always active in the community. For years she served as
membership coordinator and Executive Board member. A former teacher, she was very active with her temple. We extend sympathy
to her daugthers, our dear member Jane Levy and her sisters.
Frances Gizerian worked for years as an editor. In our club she served on the Executive Board and volunteered
lots of time in voter registration and our tabling efforts as well as participated in many a march.
The loss of both Amy, Ruth, and Frances leaves a tremendous void in the club and in our hearts. It is up
to us to honor their memory by doubling our efforts to be involved.
BELOW is a file photo we found from our 25th Anniversary dinner, with Amy in the middle -- and Ruth
in the shadows at the far right.

(FYI, this 1993 photo shows L to R: Steve Cooper, John Kim, Sid Norinsky, Kate Brennan, Mark Green, Molla Corson
(in white), Amy, John Sabini, Cathy Nolan and Marc Crawford Leavitt -- and Ruth in the shadows.)
