PREAMBLE
We believe that the price of liberty is more than eternal vigilance. It is also the active participation of every citizen
in politics. We believe that in the act of governing themselves, people are engaged in the highest most ethical of responsibilities.
We also believe that every human being has an opinion of value and a service to offer the country in the field of politics.
In support of these beliefs, this organization stands dedicated:
- To the search for peace.
- To an end to military domination of vital areas of our national life.
- To the struggle to end the economic and social deprivation and oppression stemming from racism and sexism.
- To the maintenance of the civil rights and liberties of all the American people as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
- To the constant effort to make the Democratic Party responsive to the will of its members and to the basic needs of all
Americans.
