THERMOS GREENWOOD
Christmas EVENT - December 5, 2008
ATLANTA – Today
-- Thermos Greenwood, a rock band and a vital part of a weirdly creative music scene in Atlanta during the seventies, is preparing
for a fifth annual reunion. This year’s event will be held on Friday, December 5th, 2008 at the Knights
of Columbus Hall located at 2620 Buford Highway, between North
Druid Hills Road and Lenox Road next to Green’s Liquors in Atlanta. Doors open at 8:00 PM and the first set begins at 9:00
pm with a second set to follow at 11:00 PM.
The members of the group,
renowned for their outlandish costumes, encourage those attending to “let their urges run
wild” when dressing for the occasion. This particular Knights of Columbus venue is home to many dance clubs due to it’s
excellent dance floor, so be prepared to join a floor full of dancers as well as gawkers.
The band will be playing
many of the twisted titles that made them such a favorite of the scene that launched the careers of Colonel Bruce Hampton,
The B-52’s, and the Swimming Pool Q’s. Fans can count on hearing, “Who Gave The Monkey a Gun,” “I
Talked To God,” “Living in the Heart of Chocolate City,” and
other songs that zapped audiences at the Great Southeast Music Hall and the Agora Ballroom when those were the premier concert
venues of Atlanta.
Admission is $15. For tickets
in advance call 404-395-6183 or email thermosgreenwood@earthlink.net
