From August 1, 2007 to October 1, 2007, Words of Choice ran an open submissions period for new works.
We received over 150 highly accomplished submissions from all across the country, including from
Massachusetts, Washington State, California, Texas, Kentucky, New Mexico, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania,
North Carolina, Illinois, Minnesota, as well as Canada, Russia, and elsewhere.
We selected a small number for An Evening of New Works on October 28, 2007, and an Experimental Evening
on October 27.

your "WORDS OF CHOICE" for our An Evening of New Works!
“Words of Choice”
is seeking creative writing about women’s freedom and reproductive rights for possible inclusion in 'An Evening of New
Works of Words of Choice' performed by New York actors under the direction of Francesca Mantani Arkus on Sunday, October 28,
7-9 pm in Manhattan.
We are seeking works of 10 minutes or less.
The 10-minute works
may be: scenes, monologues, short plays, sketches, short stories, poetry,
spoken word, songs, letters, memoirs or elegant nonfiction. They may be:
humorous, serious, eclectic, poignant, fanciful. They may be about: contraception, sex, abortion, pregnancy, adoption, activism, love, fear, rape, gender, sexuality, the Religious
Right, women’s liberation or whatever spurs our dreams of reproductive freedom.

interested in developing new works with Fran Mantani Arkus, Cindy Cooper and our creative team are invited to attend
a Creativity Workshop at The TACT Studio Theater on the afternoon of October 28, 2-5 pm. Those
ready for performance may be included in our 'Evening of New Works,' above.
