| This Sunday was like any other Sunday, but there was one pivotal difference. On this Sunday, I saw a posting on craigslist for two miniature bicycles with the criteria that you had to take both of them. Within an hour, I was following directions to a house 60 miles away. Because of time constraints, I was traveling on my motorcycle with a large messenger bag strapped to my back. I believe I was an unfamiliar site to the motorists on the freeway that Sunday afternoon, receiving stares, waves and thumbs-up signs during the return trip. I've heard stories about tandem bicycles being faster than solo bicycles and also the amount of teamwork and communication needed to ride with a partner causing marriages to dissolve. I threw caution to the wind and figured the amount of camaraderie you would form with a sibling or friend as both riders simultaneously learned the nuances of balance and control through steering, braking and body position would be priceless. The synergy forced by a child-sized tandem would allow kids to learn so much more than mere bicycling. What a fantastic idea. A few cuts and welds later, I had created "Trouble".
