Welcome to my internet needlework studio --- a place to show a sampling of my design work.

Wooly Dreams Design is a member company of The National Needlework Association and exhibits at TNNA and other trade markets. We do business with many shops through the US, Canada and Australia. My designs have been featured in various books and magazines.

The best part of my job is being able to take an idea and change it into a working design --- like solving a problem! --- Ideas come easy but good design is hard work.

I don't sketch much for an artist---don't keep sketch books but notebooks of written design ideas. I like to write all the details like colors and expression of faces for example about a design, then work it all out in my mind before I paint the new design on canvas.

Some of my ideas have taken a couple of years to work out before I use them in my collection and others are just waiting to be worked out --- And every now and then I get lucky and something works out instantly or I set out to do one design and it turns into another design I hadn't even thought about!

The designs I create are fun to stitch --- amusing to look at and use lots of colorful, interesting threads..... Stitching should never be a chore, but should always be an enjoyable experience.

These needlepoint canvases are painted in brilliant color combinations with great attention to detail and stitchability --- the canvases are very easy to follow and stitch. Each canvas is individually hand painted by me --- the artist / designer.

One can stitch these canvas designs with specialty fibers --- a simple tent / basketweave stitch and have a beautiful piece of needlepoint art when finished..........Or the canvas can be stitched with specialty stitches and threads to create more dimensional stitching effects.

Then there are the people who collect these painted canvases to frame and hang without stitching because they enjoy looking at the painted canvas design which really is an original piece of art.

Needlepoint designs are hand painted on Zweigart mono 18 mesh canvas with some designs on 13 mesh.
