Þó hann æva hendr
né höfuð kembði,
áðr á bál um bar
Baldrs andskota.
En Frigg um grét
í Fensölum
vá Valhallar.
Vituð ér enn eða hvat?

Sina händer han ej tvådde,
sitt huvud han ej kammade,
förrän på bålet han bar
Balders fiende.
Men Frigg grät
i Fensalarne
över Valhalls ve.
Veten I än mer och vad?

Neither cleansed his hands
nor combed his hair
till Baldr's slayer
he sent to Hel;
but Frigg did weep
in Fensalir
the fateful deed:
know ye further, or how?

Völuspá

Frigg daughter of Fjorgvin is the highest of the Asynjur, the Queen of Asgard, and Odin's wife. From this union are descended the family line that we call the Aesir race, who have resided in Old Asgard and the realms that belong to it, and that whole line of descent is of divine origin. All men's fates She knows, though She does not prophesy. Her hall is called Fensalir, and it is very splendid. She is also known as Hlin.
