Dina's Dad's Poem

Dad, I know you wait for me on haven shores,
Aware that it wont be very long.
For a lifetime passes in a fleeting breath,
The span of a whispered cherished song.
I won’t look the same, for when you left,
I was a child you placed upon your knee.
I’ve grown into this woman now,
Praying that you are proud of me.
I try to embrace your spirit,
In all I live and say and do.
You words resonate in the memories,
Of the stories I hold true.
The gifts you gave to me so early on,
Still help me make my way.
As if by some magic I will forever sense,
That you walk by my side each day.
