Women in Leisure Services is a national organization for professional women involved in the delivery of leisure and community services in private, commercial and municipal settings.  A network of chapters serves administrators, supervisors, educators, therapists and armed forces professionals in defined geographic areas throughout the country.

 
Alpha Chapter includes the Western portion of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County in Southern California.


OBJECTIVES

Meetings, educational workshops and networking programs occur monthly from August to May.   

Alpha Chapter Objectives are:
· To provide a forum for women to exchange ideas in order to keep updated on industry trends.
· To develop training programs for professional and personal development.
· To offer recognition and advancement for women in the leisure and community services profession.

· To foster friendships, self-enrichment and a member network for professional assistance.


NETWORKING

Women in Leisure Services, Chi Kappa Rho, Inc. services over 500 members comprising the largest and most diverse national coalition of women in the field of leisure. Representing fields include the public, private, an non-profit sectors in recreation, community services, education, therapy, aquatics, parks and senior citizens.

Through its publication, meetings, and conferences, Women in Leisure Services, Chi Kappa Rho, Inc. provides members the opportunity to network with their peers.
