An Indecent Proposal
A city council horror, just in time for Halloween.
October 12, 2005
Four out of five members of the Glendale City Council having voted to remove
two appointed commissioners from their seats was so deeply wrong on so many grounds, and on principles of such fundamental

The BIG LIE is Rampant in Burbank!
May 2, 2005
I suspect most are familiar with the concept of the "Big Lie," a fiction
repeated so often that it’s eventually perceived as fact. But almost universal awareness of the concept has done little
to reduce its effectiveness. And the "lie" doesn’t have to be an intentional, devious deception. Sometimes it’s
just a mistaken impression that, since it appears to make sense on its face, is soon regarded as "common knowledge."
A fine example seen locally is a common belief that Burbank’s progressive
venture into conducting municipal elections by U.S. Mail has resulted in a significant and heartening surge in the number
of voters participating in the selection of our city’s leaders.

Glendale in Pasadena’s annual Tournament of Roses Parade. In addition, and apparently at the behest of a Glendale city
councilman, GRFA board members continue to operate without information on, or control over, large sums of money spent for
and earned by the organization’s signature event, an annual gala called "Dreaming of Roses."

Winston Churchill
One circle within our city has long operated under that version of "free
speech." In its latest incarnation, the group has dubbed itself "Burbank Voters and Taxpayers."
