A Trip Down Memory Lane

Big Fish pic Cicero McDaniel, my great-grandfather, was a fisherman and operated the ferry on the White River at Des Arc, AR. He and his first wife, Nancy Carlisle, had eight children. After Nancy's death he married Artie Babb. The new McDaniel/Babb family is listed in the 1910 Census, Des Arc. Nancy C pic Nancy Carlisle McDaniel, Cicero's first wife. They were married about 1874, had eight children, then she died sometime before 1910.
Kids pic This is the earliest photograph I have of my grandmother, taken about 1890 when she was 12. She died in 1967 in Memphis, TN at the age of 88. Her brother "Little Cicero," on the left, about age 3 in this picture, died at the early age of 12. George, center, about age 9, lived until about 1957 and died in DuValls Bluff, AR. Ben Carlisle pic Ben Carlisle and wife, her first name is unknown, were the parents of Nancy Carlisle - making them my great-great-grandparents. His wife's last name was Nanney.
Home pic The home of Cicero McDaniel under construction near Des Arc, AR. From the left - Uncle George McDaniel on bicycle, unknown on bicycle, Cicero wearing hat, Aunt Mollie, Cicero's wife Nancy, the small boy standing in front of Nancy is James C. Tucker, Aunt Hattie, Aunt Jennie, my grandparents - John David Tucker and his wife Laura McDaniel Tucker. The man on right and the one standing on construction are unknown. Picture taken about 1903.
River pic The White River Ferry at Des Arc, AR. My great-grandfather, Cicero McDaniel, operated this ferry in the late 1800s and early 1900s. His other source of income was fishing.
Sisters pic Cicero McDaniel's daughters - Laura (my grandmother,) Aunt Molly, Aunt Jennie, and Aunt Hattie. Picture taken about 1961. Kids pic Uncle George McDaniel Sr. and two of his sisters, Aunt Hattie and Laura. I have not found a photograph of George's brother, Uncle Avery. Avery died after his brother George since he is listed in George's obituary.

That's all for now!
