Little Boy Drank Lye and Is Badly Burned

Son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Tucker, 22 months, in Serious Condition

William Lee Tucker, the 22-months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Devereaux Tucker, was severely burned about the month and throat Wednesday afternoon, when the child accidentally drank a solution of lye. Mrs. Tucker had prepared some lye water for the family washing at their country home, and had set down a glass containing a small amount of the solution, in a place where it was thought to be out of the reach of the baby boy. William Lee found the glass and took a drink its deadly contents, the child's screams from pain being the mother's first intimation of the little's one act. Medical aid was summoned and the child was resting easier Thursday, though its condition was still considered serious.
