SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, June 26, 2005 Field Vineyards, Katarina, Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley, 2003 a very limited,
high end, boutique wine was awarded a Silver Medal by notable judges at the just completed 2005 San Francisco International
Wine Competition, the largest and most respected International wine competition in America.
Over 1,000 wineries submitted wines from 18 countries which made this years event the largest and most successful ever. Only commercial wines produced by a professional winery were permitted to enter the competition. The Executive Director for this years event was noted wine and food authority, Anthony Dias Blue, Wine and Spirits Editor of Bon Appetit Magazine. To ensure the competition's rigor and integrity, judging was based on a blind, consensual procedure. All wines were judged by vintage within each class. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals were presented to wines receiving a consensus vote by the panel of judges. The judges serving on the panel were nationally recognized wine experts, sophisticated wine writers, wine buyers, sommeliers and retailers from around the country.
