Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica).  The swallows were feeding in Elk Meadow, and stopping to rest (and sing) on the information signs.  Wanting the shot to look more natural, I leaned a stick against one of the signs.  The swallows then preferred to stop on the stick.  Redwood National Park, CA.
 

Canon EOS 1V camera and 600 f/4 L IS lens and 1.4x teleconverter on Gitzo tripod with Wimberly head.  Fuji Provia 100F film, pushed one stop.  1/500 sec at f/5.6.
