Northern Elephant Seal (Mirounga angustirostris).  Elephant seals breed on Castle Rock, just off the coast of Crescent City, CA.  These two were separated from their mothers soon after birth and rescued by the volunteers at the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center.  We taught them how to eat, got them up to weight, and released them after a few months.  Shown here just after release.
