Swan Flight

Swan Flight

Tundra Swans (Cygnus columbianus). These swans stop over at Lake Earl twice each year during their migrations. Lake Earl, Del Norte County, CA, is the largest coastal lagoon on the west coast.  (A "lagoon" is a lake that periodically connects to the sea.)

Canon EOS 1V camera with 600 F/4 L IS lens and 2x teleconverter.  Fuji Provia 100F film (pushed one stop) at 1/750 sec and F/8.

This photo is already cropped to about 20% of the original shot.  Therefore, it might not print out tack sharp at frame sizes of 16x20 or larger.

Photo was published in the Wild Rivers Coast Phonebook, 2005-2006.
